Kevin Costner Struggles to Stay Afloat After ‘Horizon’ Underperformance: Report
Kevin Costner is reportedly facing financial challenges amid the heartbreak from his split with Christine Baumgartner.
As fans know, Kevin invested millions into Horizon: An American Saga, which ultimately failed to resonate with audiences.
An insider told In Touch Weekly, “Kevin largely financed Horizon using undeveloped California land he owns.” The source added, “The reality is sinking in that he may have to sell this property and reorganize his other assets to stay financially stable after the disappointing performance of the first film in the series.”
The insider also mentioned, “Kevin is restructuring his life, finances, and possessions to continue funding the Horizon project for a couple more years.” Despite pouring $38 million of his own money into the film, it only grossed $11 million during its opening weekend against a reported $100 million budget.
Before concluding the conversation, the insider stated, “He’s navigating a tough situation but remains realistic about the need to part with some of his assets to see this project through to completion.”
