“Kevin Costner Struggles with Heartbreak Over the Setback of His Passion Project After Leaving Yellowstone”

Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga marked his most ambitious project since leaving the acclaimed series Yellowstone. Costner poured a significant amount of his personal wealth into this film, which was intended to kick off a tetralogy. After nearly five seasons as the lead on Yellowstone, he decided to focus on Horizon, but the film’s disappointing box office performance and harsh reviews have left him feeling disheartened.

According to a report from Life & Style magazine, Costner’s investment in Horizon: An American Saga has put him in a tough situation. He reportedly invested around $38 million of his own money into the project, which did not recoup its costs. An insider shared:

“He really believed in these movies, still does, and is taking the news pretty hard.”

While Costner had high hopes for the film’s success, it has turned out to be a gamble that didn’t pay off. His decision to leave Yellowstone was largely driven by his commitment to Horizon, which was expected to unfold over several installments.

New Line Cinema has also announced a delay in the release of the second installment of Horizon, stating they want to give audiences more time to discover the first film. However, Costner is reportedly anxious that the film’s poor performance could lead the studio to abandon the project entirely.

Although Yellowstone was a major success, Costner’s focus on Horizon may have been a miscalculation, potentially leading him into a challenging phase in his career just as he was experiencing a resurgence.
