“Kevin Costner Talks Stubbornness and More in Exclusive Interview”

Fresh off his acclaimed role in the hit Stan series Yellowstone, Kevin Costner has elevated his career with a breathtaking new epic.

In Horizon: An American Saga, Costner not only stars but also showcases his directorial talents. This project is a long-cherished dream for Costner, one he has pursued for 36 years. In an exclusive interview with Today, he shared his journey with Lauren Tomasi. “Originally, it was one movie in 1988, but no one seemed as interested in it as I was,” Costner revealed. “So I thought, ‘Forget them, I’ll create four more films.’ I’m pretty stubborn, you know? I don’t fall out of love with things easily.”

The saga unfolds across four chapters, depicting a grand western narrative about the 1800s Arizona land disputes. The first chapter has already set high expectations, earning a seven-minute standing ovation at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Costner was visibly moved by the audience’s response, though he downplayed his emotions with a grin. “I didn’t actually shed any tears; I had something in my eye that just wouldn’t come out,” he said.

Horizon: An American Saga Chapter One is now streaming exclusively on Stan.
