Kevin Costner to Be Honored With Eva Monley Award by Location Managers Guild

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Aug. 4, 2025 — Academy Award®-winning actor, producer, director, and writer Kevin Costner will receive the esteemed Eva Monley Award from the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) at the 12th Annual LMGI Awards, taking place on August 23, 2025, at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage.

Celebrated for his deep commitment to storytelling through the use of authentic locations, Costner has long demonstrated the powerful role that setting plays in narrative. From timeless classics like Dances with Wolves, The Bodyguard, and Field of Dreams, to the hit series Yellowstone and his most recent epic Horizon: An American Saga, Costner’s work underscores how landscapes help define characters, atmosphere, and emotional tone.

“Kevin Costner has long understood that locations are more than scenery—they are storytelling tools that shape the emotional and visual language of a film,” said John Rakich, LMGI President. “His commitment to authenticity and his deep respect for the craft make him a perfect recipient of the Eva Monley Award. We are proud to honor his legacy and ongoing contributions to the art of filmmaking.”

With a career spanning over four decades, Costner has captivated audiences across genres and formats. He has earned multiple accolades, including two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. His filmography includes beloved titles such as The Untouchables, Bull Durham, Silverado, JFK, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, No Way Out, and A Perfect World. He also produced and starred in Wyatt Earp and Waterworld, and directed films like The Postman and Open Range.

The Eva Monley Award is presented to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the craft of filmmaking by embracing and elevating the role of real-world locations. Past recipients include iconic directors Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Wes Anderson, and Danny Boyle.

In addition, veteran location manager Ilt Jones will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Jones’s visionary work has brought to life some of the most visually striking films in recent memory, including The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Iron Man 3, Kong: Skull Island, Captain Marvel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and the Transformers franchise.

The LMGI Awards spotlight the vital role of location professionals in film, television, commercials, and global film commissions.
