Kevin Costner Transforms Berlin Bus into a Western-Style Set to Promote New Film “Horizon”

Kevin Costner Takes Berlin Bus for Western-Themed Promotion of “Horizon”

To celebrate the German release of the western film Horizon, film distributor Tobis Film and Berlin’s public transport operator BVG have teamed up for a unique social media campaign featuring Hollywood superstar Kevin Costner. In the campaign, the Oscar-winning actor is seen riding a Berlin bus transformed into a western-themed set as he heads to a screening of his latest film. The creative concept and execution were handled by Serviceplan Berlin.

As Horizon makes its nationwide debut in Germany, the social media spot will be showcased on the Tobis Film and BVG channels, emphasizing the tagline: Real heroes ride BVG to see Horizon.

Max Krumm, Product Manager at Tobis Film, stated, “For the release of Kevin Costner’s new western epic, Horizon, we wanted to let Berlin know that the Sheriff is back in town! And for this, there’s no better partner than BVG.”

Christine Wolburg, Head of Sales and Marketing at BVG, added, “We see all our passengers as heroes for contributing to the ecological transport revolution—even when heading to the cinema. It was a pleasure to convey this message with Hollywood legend Kevin Costner in such a charming way. And by the way, our ‘carriages’ have more horsepower!”

Jeannette Bohné, Creative Director at Serviceplan Berlin, commented, “The collaboration between Tobis Film and BVG for Horizon represents a perfect blend of Hollywood flair and Berlin spirit. This project was both challenging and rewarding, made possible by an exceptional production. It’s exciting when two iconic brands come together to create something memorable in pop culture.”

The film, produced by Wolffpack Vision, was developed in close collaboration between the creative and directorial teams, with direction by Matthias Wackrow and cinematography by Tobi Koppe.

This marks Serviceplan Berlin’s first project with Tobis Film, while their ongoing partnership with BVG includes notable campaigns such as the award-winning BVG women’s ticket.
