Christine Baumgartner, the ex-wife of actor Kevin Costner, is reportedly engaged to financier Joshua Connor—less than a year after finalizing her divorce from the Yellowstone star in February 2024. The former couple had been married for 18 years and share three children.
Romance rumors between Baumgartner and Connor began in July 2023 after they were seen vacationing together in Hawaii. Nearly a year later, they confirmed their relationship by walking hand-in-hand in Santa Barbara, California.
According to reports, Connor proposed after a private dinner on a beach in Santa Barbara. “It was about to rain, so almost no one else was on the beach when Josh got down on one knee,” a source said.
Baumgartner initially filed for divorce on May 1, 2023, citing irreconcilable differences. During the proceedings, she requested $248,000 per month in child support. A judge set a temporary amount of $129,755 in July, which was later reduced to $63,209 in September.
Connor’s name came up during the custody hearings when Costner’s legal team questioned a $20,000 loan from a man identified as Christine’s “boyfriend.” Baumgartner denied they were romantically involved at the time, stating that Connor had been a close friend for seven or eight years.
She testified that she and Connor traveled to Hawaii in March 2023 with their children and friends—though Costner did not attend, opting instead to give a speech at a hunting club. The Costners paid for that vacation home. In July, Baumgartner returned to Hawaii with Connor and others, where he reportedly covered the cost of accommodations.
Regarding the financial support from Connor, Baumgartner confirmed he gave her $20,000 but said she couldn’t recall whether it was before or after the Hawaii trips. She explained that she gave $10,000 of that amount to her mother, who was struggling with housing concerns. Baumgartner became emotional while describing her mother’s situation during court testimony.
