“Kevin Costner’s ‘Horizon 2’ Delayed After Disappointing Performance of First Film”

Kevin Costner’s period Western, Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 2, will no longer hit theaters on August 16 as planned.

The sequel has been removed from the release schedule following the underwhelming performance of Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1 during its recent theatrical run. Although a new release date for the sequel has yet to be set, the plan is still to release it in theaters.

Following extensive discussions, Costner’s Territory Pictures and distribution partner New Line Cinema decided to adjust their strategy. The goal is to give audiences more time to discover the first film, which carries a $100 million budget, before the sequel’s release.
