“Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone Feud Intensifies Following Horizon Disappointment”

“Yellowstone” has officially set a premiere date for the second half of its fifth season, but Kevin Costner will not be returning. Fans can look forward to the next chapter on November 10, almost two years after the previous season. The show might continue with a sixth season, according to Deadline, but the decision to proceed without Costner has sparked controversy.

Sources close to Life & Style reveal that while many cast members remain loyal to show creator Taylor Sheridan, there is considerable discontent over the handling of Costner’s departure. “The cast is torn between wanting to stay in Taylor Sheridan’s favor and genuinely missing Kevin. They feel it was a mistake not to reach a compromise,” a source shared.

Costner, facing disappointment after his ambitious project “Horizon: An American Saga” underwhelmed at the box office and received a tepid response at the Venice Film Festival, could use a positive turn. The film’s lackluster performance, compounded by a postponed summer release, has added to his frustration.

A second source noted that Costner is aware that Sheridan and others might be taking pleasure in the film’s poor reception, which has only deepened his resentment and intensified the Yellowstone conflict. In May, Costner spoke out about his dissatisfaction with Sheridan’s inability to accommodate his shooting schedule for “Horizon.” He told Deadline, “I haven’t felt good about it over the last year, especially with the way it was discussed. It wasn’t truthful. I had a contract for seasons five, six, and seven. After negotiations, they proposed changing it to 5A and 5B, with a possibility of a sixth season, but they couldn’t follow through.” He added that the shifting schedules ultimately led to his departure from the show.

Despite rumored disagreements over creative control and financial issues, some members of the “Yellowstone” cast reportedly support Costner, while others are reportedly relieved by his absence. “There’s a significant divide among the cast,” noted Life & Style’s source. “Some feel it was a huge mistake to let him go and are lamenting the loss, while others are eager to step into the spotlight and are less sympathetic.”
