Legal and Financial Troubles Mount for Kevin Costner After ‘Horizon: An American Saga’ Fallout

Kevin Costner is currently facing a major lawsuit tied to a financial dispute that’s pushing the Yellowstone star to his breaking point.

The 70-year-old actor stands to lose millions following a bitter fallout involving his passion project, Horizon: An American Saga.

Backers of the film — which performed poorly despite Costner’s heavy promotion and his personal investment of $38 million — are accusing the actor’s production team of breaching financial agreements. The conflict has escalated into a high-stakes battle over who is responsible for covering the mounting costs. Simultaneously, stuntwoman Devyn LaBella, 34, has filed a serious complaint against Costner and the Horizon production companies, alleging she was subjected to a “violent, unscripted, and unscheduled rape scene” during filming. Costner’s legal team firmly denies these accusations, calling them baseless. However, insiders reveal that Costner — once valued at roughly $400 million thanks to his successful film and TV career — is increasingly anxious about how these financial setbacks are draining his savings.

Horizon was a huge flop that cost him a lot of money and failed to attract audiences,” says a source. “He’s still trying to recover from that blow, and now this massive lawsuit threatens to add even more financial pressure. Unless his lawyers can find a last-minute fix, he’s in serious trouble.”

Adding to his financial strain, Costner was hit hard earlier this year by his divorce from Christine Baumgartner, 51, with whom he shares three children. While a judge dismissed her initial request for nearly $250,000 a month in child support, Costner ended up agreeing to pay over $63,000 monthly. Christine is now engaged to Josh Connor, a former friend of Kevin’s, and the couple is reportedly planning an extravagant wedding, which has only deepened Costner’s frustration.

“Even though Kevin escaped the worst of the child support battle, he’ll still be paying substantial amounts for years to come,” the insider adds. “It’s a heavy burden that weighs on him emotionally. This new lawsuit just adds to his money troubles, which have been building for some time. He’ll have to make serious cuts to his lifestyle going forward.”
