“Michelle Pfeiffer Confirmed to Lead New ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff Following Kevin Costner’s Exit – Series Title Revealed”

Michelle Pfeiffer has been announced as the lead for an upcoming Yellowstone spinoff, following Kevin Costner’s departure from the flagship series.

The 66-year-old Oscar-nominated actress will star in and executive produce the new series titled The Madison. This latest addition to the Yellowstone universe is described as a poignant exploration of grief and human connection. The narrative centers on a family from New York City that relocates to the Madison River valley in central Montana after experiencing profound personal loss.

The spinoff will follow the Clyburn family, led by the wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn, who moves to Montana after the tragic deaths of her husband and brother-in-law in a plane crash.

Paramount Network previously announced two spinoffs when the flagship series concluded last year: one set in 1944 and The Madison, which will be set in the present day. Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO and President/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios at Paramount Global, praised Pfeiffer’s casting, saying, “Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity, and grace. She is the perfect anchor for the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, The Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”

While there were recent reports of Kurt Russell joining the cast, his involvement has not yet been confirmed. However, TVLine reported that Pfeiffer and Russell were in talks, along with Suits star Patrick J. Adams. The show is expected to focus on the Clyburn family’s transition to their new life in Montana.

Production on The Madison is slated to begin later this month in Montana, New York, and Texas, with an anticipated premiere in 2025, following the conclusion of Yellowstone Season 5B on November 10. The cast is still being finalized, with Beau Garrett (of The Good Doctor and Firefly Lane) also rumored to be involved.
