“Tom Selleck, 79, Debuts New Full Beard After ‘Blue Bloods’ Departure”

Tom Selleck looked quite different as he stepped out for errands in California, showcasing a new grey beard and casual attire that starkly contrasts with his former Blue Bloods persona. With the final season of the show already filmed, Selleck has embraced a fresh look, embodying a relaxed and unrecognizable appearance from his recent TV role.

During his outing, the 79-year-old actor wore a plain navy blue t-shirt under a matching linen shirt, paired with black shorts and trainers. He carried a file with paperwork and was spotted making a pit stop at McDonald’s, where he enjoyed a burger in his car. This was his first public appearance since the cancellation of his hit detective drama, Blue Bloods.

Following the show’s end, Selleck has expressed his intention to spend more quality time at home with his wife of 41 years, Jillie. The couple, who have owned a 63-acre ranch in Ventura County since 1988, are looking forward to enjoying their retirement together. They raised their daughter, Hannah, on this sprawling property and now plan to relish the serene country life.

Selleck shared that he’s an enthusiastic ATV rider, mainly using it to patrol the ranch and tend to his wildflowers. Although he’s known for his tough-guy roles like Magnum PI, he finds solace in nurturing his garden, planting flowers in cycles to ensure a continuous bloom throughout the year.

Interestingly, Selleck isn’t inclined to spend his retirement binging TV shows. Instead, he prefers to unwind with “a cigar and a glass of whiskey.” Reflecting on his career and life, he expressed gratitude for his experiences, stating, “I’ve had a very good life, a very lucky life. I don’t know if it’s what I figured I’d be doing, but it’s with a lot of gratitude.”
