“Tom Selleck and Larry Manetti Reunite in ‘Blue Bloods’ Episode: A Magnum P.I. Nostalgia”

Original Magnum P.I. stars Tom Selleck and Larry Manetti are set to reunite in an upcoming episode of Selleck’s CBS drama Blue Bloods.

This marks their first on-screen collaboration since Magnum P.I. ended in 1988, aside from a brief appearance together in a 2007 episode of Las Vegas.

Donnie Wahlberg shared the exciting news on social media, stating: “It’s a mini Magnum P.I. reunion on the set of #BlueBloods this week, with guest star Larry Manetti & Tom Selleck — together again. Wishing the late greats Roger E. Mosley & John Hillerman could be here, too.” The post included a photo featuring current Blue Bloods cast members like Bridget Moynahan, Andrew Terraciano, Will Estes, and Vanessa Ray.

Manetti, known for his role as Orville “Rick” Wright alongside Selleck’s private investigator, has also appeared in series such as Walker, Texas Ranger, JAG, and the reboots of Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I..

Now in its 13th season, Blue Bloods stars Selleck as Frank Reagan, the New York Police Commissioner and family patriarch. The show remains a Top 5 scripted series on CBS and is a key part of the network’s successful Friday lineup. Recent reports indicate that Blue Bloods is in renewal negotiations, with hopes for a Season 14.

Produced by CBS Studios, the series continues to perform well, maintaining steady viewership year after year and gaining traction in syndication and internationally.
