“Tom Selleck, ‘Blue Bloods’ Star, Reveals He Has Never Used Email or Text but Occasionally Searches for His Own Name”

Tom Selleck is far from one to lament about staying offline. In fact, he prefers it that way.

In a recent interview, the “Blue Bloods” star—who is preparing to release his memoir, discussed his disinterest in using email or text messages.

“Occasionally I’ve looked up my name,” he revealed. “That started really with the book, but I’ve never sent my own email. I had a secretary. I’ve never texted anybody.”

Selleck did mention that his wife of 37 years, Jillie Mack, occasionally handles texting for him.

“I have a certain luxury where I probably couldn’t survive otherwise,” he said. “But I don’t know. I have a hard time writing things down, which is strange for a guy who’s putting out a book.”

Selleck met Jillie in 1983 when she was performing in the musical Cats, and they married four years later. They have one daughter, Hannah, while Selleck also has a son, Kevin, from his previous marriage to Jacqueline Ray. Recalling their 1987 wedding, Selleck shared that it nearly didn’t take place due to one crucial oversight: they forgot their marriage license.
