“Tom Selleck Concerned About Losing Sprawling Ranch After ‘Blue Bloods’ Wraps”

Actor Tom Selleck is facing a tough reality as the end of “Blue Bloods” could potentially mean losing one of his cherished properties. The 79-year-old, best known for his iconic roles in “Magnum P.I.” and “Smokey and the Bandit,” revealed that the conclusion of CBS’s police procedural series in December might force him to give up his sprawling 63-acre ranch in California.

In a recent interview with “CBS Sunday Morning,” Selleck discussed the situation while promoting his memoir, “You Never Know,” which is set to release on Tuesday. He expressed concern over the potential impact on his finances, stating, “Hopefully I keep working enough to hold onto the place.” He acknowledged that while he’s financially secure from his six-decade career, maintaining a 63-acre ranch is a different story. “Of course, if I stopped working? Yeah,” he added.

Despite a successful career, Selleck admitted that the uncertainty of the acting profession always lingers. “As an actor, you never lose — I don’t lose, anyway — the sense that every time I finish a job, it’s my last job.”

CBS recently confirmed that the current season of “Blue Bloods,” its 14th, will be its final season, with the second half slated to premiere this fall. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach announced the decision last week, emphasizing the importance of giving the show a proper send-off. “All shows have to come to an end. It’s important for us to refresh the schedule,” she said, as reported by Deadline.

Despite the cast’s appeals to reconsider, Reisenbach maintained that the decision is final. “We are going to end the show come December.”

Selleck remains hopeful that CBS might reconsider, expressing optimism that “CBS will come to their senses” and keep the show going. He noted, “We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast, winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. We’re doing good shows and still holding our place.”

“Blue Bloods” was ranked number 7 out of Nielsen’s Top 10 for the week of April 8 to April 14, reflecting its ongoing popularity.
