Tom Selleck Confirms “Blue Bloods” Will Return for Season 15 Despite CBS Axing Drama

Tom Selleck Confirms “Blue Bloods” Will Continue with Season 15

While “Blue Bloods” was initially expected to conclude after its 14th season, star Tom Selleck has shared news that fans can look forward to more episodes. The beloved family police drama, which has captivated CBS viewers for 14 years with its blend of intense investigations and heartfelt family moments, faced cancellation rumors due to “budget negotiations and financial strain.”

Fans and cast members expressed their dismay at the prospect of the show’s end, but Selleck recently clarified that there will indeed be a 15th season. He explained to Country Living that although CBS announced this would be the final season, the last eight episodes set to air later this year will actually constitute Season 15, not a continuation of Season 14.

“They announced this was gonna be our last season. I think CBS will come to their senses,” Selleck stated. “We’re doing a 10-show season because of the strike, and we’ll air eight shows in the fall as the premiere of our 15th season. My hope is CBS recognizes that we’re still winning Friday nights and performing well on Paramount Plus.”

Despite Selleck’s comments, CBS has yet to officially categorize these upcoming episodes as a new season, and they remain listed as part of Season 14 on Blue Bloods’ IMDb page. An official release date for the next episodes has not been announced, but they are expected to return in October.
