“Tom Selleck Faces Potential Loss of California Ranch Due to ‘Blue Bloods’ Cancellation”

Tom Selleck may soon face a significant life change.

At 79, the actor has been a staple of CBS’s popular crime drama “Blue Bloods” since 2010. However, with the show set to wrap up later this year, Selleck could potentially lose his cherished California ranch due to the loss of income.

In an interview on “CBS Sunday Morning,” Selleck reflected on his lengthy and successful career, remarking, “You know, hopefully I keep working enough to hold onto the place.” His career, which began in the late 1960s, has built him a substantial reputation.

Despite the impending end of “Blue Bloods,” Selleck remains optimistic about future opportunities, saying, “As an actor, you never lose – I don’t lose, anyway – that sense that every time I finish a job, it’s my last job.”

His “place” refers to his 63-acre ranch in Ventura County, California, which he purchased in 1988 after leaving “Magnum, P.I.” Once an avocado farm, the property suffered during a drought, but Selleck has been working on its restoration.

When asked if the prospect of losing his ranch was a genuine concern if he stopped working, Selleck candidly responded, “That’s always an issue. If I stopped working, yeah. Am I set for life? Yeah, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch!”

On “CBS Mornings,” Selleck shared that his journey into acting was accidental. Originally aspiring to be a professional baseball player, he took a theater class in college for an easy grade, which ultimately redirected his career path.
