“Tom Selleck Responds to Rumors About Blue Bloods and His Ranch”

For 14 years, Tom Selleck has starred as NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan on CBS’s Blue Bloods, but this fall marks the series’ final season. In light of its conclusion, Selleck has expressed his disagreement with CBS’s decision, leading to rumors suggesting he’s advocating for the show’s continuation to protect his ranch.

In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the 79-year-old actor discussed his 63-acre California ranch, which he purchased from Dean Martin in 1988. He mentioned that he hopes to “keep working enough to hold onto the place,” acknowledging that financial stability can be a concern: “Am I set for life? Yeah, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch.”

Selleck also voiced his desire for CBS to reconsider the cancellation, despite network executives standing firm on ending the series. Following his comments, speculation arose about whether the actor might face financial challenges without the show, given his reported earnings of around $200,000 per episode. However, it seems presumptuous to assume he would be in dire straits based solely on his remarks.

In the interview, Selleck reflected on the emotional weight of concluding a long-running role: “As an actor, you never lose that sense that every time I finish a job, it’s my last job. I love the work and would like to keep doing it.”

Following the interview’s buzz, TMZ reported that Selleck has taken out several loans on the property over the years, but it remains unclear how much he has repaid. While concerns about his financial situation have been raised, sources indicate he is “100% fine” regarding his ability to maintain his California home.

As fans prepare for the second half of Blue Bloods‘ final season this fall, it’s a bittersweet moment to bid farewell to a beloved character and the series.
