Tom Selleck Seeks to Overturn Blue Bloods Cancellation Decision

Tom Selleck Opposes Blue Bloods Cancellation

Tom Selleck, renowned for his role as NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods, has voiced his displeasure with CBS’s decision to cancel the popular cop drama. Selleck, who has portrayed Reagan since 2010, expressed his hope that CBS might reconsider its decision.

In a recent interview with CBS News, Selleck was asked if he believed the series was truly ending. He responded, “Well, that’s a good question. I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses.” He emphasized the show’s success, noting, “We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. And I can tell you this: we aren’t sliding off down a cliff. We’re doing good shows and still holding our place.”

CBS announced last year that Blue Bloods would conclude with a two-part final season. The mid-season finale is set to air later this month, with the remaining episodes scheduled for later this year.

Reflecting on the show’s impact, Selleck said, “For the past 13 years, it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City but also highlights the importance of family.” He also expressed gratitude towards his colleagues and fans, stating, “Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors, and crew has been a dream come true. Thank you to CBS Studios and CBS Network for their steadfast support, and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night.”

Selleck’s recent comments give hope to fans wishing to continue their Friday night tradition with the Blue Bloods cast beyond the planned final season.
