“Tom Selleck Still Alive: Debunking Recent False Reports”

In late December 2022, we received inquiries from readers concerned about rumors claiming that film and TV star Tom Selleck had passed away. We investigated and found no credible reports indicating that the 77-year-old actor was in poor health, hospitalized, or deceased.

False Claims

It appears that the rumors about Selleck’s death were part of a misleading hoax designed to attract attention by using a “sad news” narrative. However, these claims were baseless and false.

One of the misleading posts read, “Sad news about beloved actor Tom Selleck. We keep you in our prayers. What happens to him now – check the comments.” The post directed users to “check the comments,” where a link led to an article on recipmo.com. Contrary to the claim, the article did not mention Selleck’s death but instead featured Google-hosted ads related to the TV show “Blue Bloods,” in which Selleck stars.

Misleading Ads

The ads on the site, such as “Tom Steps Back from ‘Blue Bloods'” and “Tom Split from ‘Blue Bloods’,” are part of a recurring scam. The incorrect grammar suggests that these ads may have been created by scammers from abroad. Clicking on these ads led to misleading and fraudulent claims, similar to those we have previously reported, which falsely suggested Selleck endorsed CBD products.

These scammers used deceptive website designs to mimic reputable sources like People.com. In reality, these articles were hosted on dubious sites such as swopfind.com and electricalpanelparts.com. Refreshing these pages often revealed different content, indicating the use of tactics like inline frames (iframes) to obscure the scam from detection.

In summary, Tom Selleck is alive and well, and the rumors of his death are unfounded.
