“Tom Selleck Urges CBS to Reconsider ‘Blue Bloods’ Cancellation”

Tom Selleck is hopeful that CBS will reverse its decision to cancel Blue Bloods, allowing the beloved series to continue beyond its 14th season.

In a recent interview with CBS News, Selleck expressed his belief that CBS might reconsider their decision. “I have faith that CBS will come to their senses,” Selleck said. “We’re the third-highest scripted show in broadcast television and continue to perform well. All the cast members are eager to return, and we’re still delivering strong episodes. So, I remain hopeful.”

Selleck has portrayed Commissioner Frank Reagan since the show’s debut in 2010. Despite CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach’s statement during a press conference that Blue Bloods will conclude its run this fall after 14 seasons, Selleck remains optimistic.

Reisenbach acknowledged the show’s impact, saying, “We want to extend our gratitude to the cast and crew. We will certainly miss the iconic family dinners. It’s crucial to give the show the proper sendoff it deserves.”

While Reisenbach confirmed the show’s end in December, she also noted, “We appreciate the cast’s passion and love for the series. However, all shows must eventually conclude, and it’s important for us to refresh our programming lineup.”

Blue Bloods focuses on the Reagan family, who have deep roots in law enforcement in New York City. Alongside Selleck, the show features Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, and Len Cariou.
