“Tom Selleck Urges CBS to Reconsider Decision After ‘Blue Bloods’ Cancellation”

Tom Selleck is hopeful that CBS will reverse its decision to cancel “Blue Bloods,” allowing the series to continue past its 14-season run.

“I still believe CBS will come to their senses,” Selleck told CBS News. “We’re the third-highest scripted show on broadcast TV, and we’re performing well. The cast is eager to return, and the show is still strong. I’m uncertain why this decision was made.” Selleck, who has played Commissioner Frank Reagan since the show began in 2010, expressed his disappointment.

CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach confirmed during a press conference that “Blue Bloods” will conclude this fall after its 14th season. “We want to thank the cast and crew for their contributions,” Reisenbach said. “We’ll miss the family dinners on the show, but it’s time to refresh our schedule. The show will end in December.”

The series, which follows the Reagan family’s law enforcement legacy in NYC, features Selleck alongside Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, and Len Cariou.
