(Gray News) – Tom Selleck isn’t ready to bid farewell to “Blue Bloods.”

At 79, Selleck has starred in the popular CBS show for the past 14 years, but it’s slated to end this year.

Fans have expressed strong resistance to the show’s conclusion, and Selleck himself shares their sentiment.

In a recent CBS interview, Selleck expressed hope that CBS will “come to their senses” and renew the series for additional seasons.

“We’re the third-highest scripted show on broadcast television. We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to return,” Selleck noted in part.

Selleck’s new memoir, “You Never Know,” is released this week.
