Tom Selleck Worried About Losing His Sprawling Ranch After ‘Blue Bloods’ Wraps Up
Tom Selleck Faces Uncertainty Over His 63-Acre Ranch as ‘Blue Bloods’ Nears Its End
Tom Selleck has some worries as the conclusion of “Blue Bloods” could also mean the loss of one of his cherished homes. The iconic actor, known for his role in “Magnum P.I.,” expressed concern that if the CBS police drama wraps up as planned in December, he might have to part with his expansive 63-acre ranch in California.
In an interview with “CBS Sunday Morning” while promoting his memoir, “You Never Know,” Selleck, 79, shared, “Hopefully I keep working enough to hold onto the place.” When asked if that was truly a concern given his long career, he responded, “Of course. If I stopped working? Yeah.”
“Am I set for life? Sure, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch,” he continued. Selleck, who has played New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan on “Blue Bloods” since its debut in 2010, added, “As an actor, you never lose the sense that every time I finish a job, it’s my last job.”
CBS recently confirmed that the current season, its 14th, will be the show’s final one, with the second half set to premiere in the fall. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach acknowledged the end of the series, stating, “We absolutely will miss the family dinners. It’s important to give [the] show the send-off it deserves,” as reported by Deadline.
Despite pleas from the cast for a reconsideration, Reisenbach noted, “All shows have to come to an end. It’s important for us to refresh the schedule. We are going to end the show come December.”
Selleck remains hopeful that “CBS will come to their senses” and reverse the decision, emphasizing, “We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast, winning the night. All the cast wants to come back… We’re doing good shows and still holding our place. I don’t know.”
