“Tom Selleck’s ‘Blue Bloods’ Cancellation Raises Concerns About His Ranch”

Tom Selleck, nearing 80 years old and with a career spanning 55 years, remains one of Hollywood’s most iconic figures. For 14 seasons, he’s starred on CBS’s Friday night drama “Blue Bloods,” which is set to conclude at the end of 2024 despite its solid ratings and the cast’s willingness to continue.

While the end of a successful series is always challenging, Selleck’s main concern seems to be the impact on his colleagues—the cast and crew who have become like family over the years. With his wealth and success, one might assume Selleck’s primary worry would be their job losses. However, he’s also voiced a personal concern: maintaining his 63-acre California ranch.

Selleck shared with CBS News that he hopes to keep working to afford the upkeep of his expansive property. Although he acknowledges that he’d be financially secure even if he stopped working, he’s not sure he could sustain such a large ranch without continued income.

Despite the impending end of “Blue Bloods,” Selleck remains hopeful that CBS might reconsider their decision. He emphasized that the show is still producing quality content and maintaining its audience.

On a lighter note, while I’ve never watched “Blue Bloods” in its 14-year run and have only a vague understanding of its premise, I recently saw a clip of Donnie Wahlberg trying to revive an NKOTB dance on set, which I found both endearing and a bit awkward. It’s a reminder that even in a long-running series, there are moments of levity and charm.
