Tom Selleck Leads a Charmed Life—And He Admits It

The Magnum P.I. star, who has been happily married to Jillie Mack for over three decades, recently revealed a surprising aspect of his life: he’s never sent an email or a text message. Selleck admits he’s always relied on others to handle his digital communications, with his wife Jillie often taking charge. “Occasionally I’ve looked up my name,” he shared, referring to his book launch. “But I’ve never sent my own email. I’ve always had a secretary. I’ve never texted anyone.”

Jillie handles his texting and communications, a luxury Tom acknowledges he might not be able to manage without. Despite his role in writing his memoir, You Never Know, which is due out in the spring, Tom confesses he struggles with writing things down.

Tom also values Jillie’s independence, which he believes has been key to their successful marriage. “I don’t think our relationship would have survived if she was someone who was solely focused on me,” Tom noted. “Jillie is very active and has her own life. I remember the first time she stayed in Hawaii, she even went roller skating with my friend Dave Muntz before auditioning for Starlight Express.”

The couple, who welcomed their daughter Hannah in 1988, continues to enjoy a strong and enduring partnership.
