“What’s Coming Up for the Reagan Family in the Second Half of ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 14”

One of television’s longest-running police procedurals, Blue Bloods, is set to return this October for the second half of its 14th and final season. CBS has revealed its fall 2024 lineup, marking the continuation of the final eight episodes following the first 10 that aired earlier this year.

Tom Selleck, who has portrayed NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan, reflected on the show’s legacy, saying, “For the past 13 years, it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City but also highlights the importance of family. Working with such talented actors, writers, producers, directors, and crew has been a dream come true. I’m grateful to have been part of this remarkable team for over 275 episodes. Our heartfelt thanks go out to CBS Studios, CBS Network, and the fans who joined us for dinner every Friday night.”

Although Blue Bloods is often categorized as a police procedural, it is as much a family drama, centering on the Reagan family, New York’s first family of law enforcement. Selleck stars as the patriarch Frank Reagan, while his on-screen children include Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), Erin (Bridget Moynahan), and Jamie (Will Estes).

Key recurring characters returning for Season 14 include Frank Reagan’s team: Detective Abigail Baker (Abigail Hawk), Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara), and Lieutenant Sidney Gormley (Robert Clohessy). In the D.A.’s office, DA Investigator Anthony Abetemarco (Steve Schirripa) will also make a return.

Family member Joe Hill (Will Hochman), who is both part of the Reagan clan and the NYPD, will continue to appear throughout the season. Fans can also look forward to seeing Andrew Terraciano as Danny’s youngest son, Sean, who is nearing college age, and Sami Gayle as Nicky, Erin’s daughter, who will return from San Francisco for a few episodes.
