It’s the end of an era for Yellowstone fans. After six years on the air, the neo-Western drama will wrap up with its fifth and final season, set to return in November. The cast and crew have just finished shooting in Montana, with Wendy Moniz and Emerson Miller sharing heartfelt farewell messages on Instagram. As the Duttons prepare to take their final bow, stars Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Luke Grimes are already moving on to exciting new projects. Here’s a look at what they’ll be up to next:
Kevin Costner
Kevin Costner has confirmed he will not appear in the final episodes of Yellowstone due to his busy schedule with Horizon: An American Saga. After releasing the first film in June, he is gearing up to debut Chapter 2 at the Venice Film Festival on September 7. The 69-year-old actor will also work on the third and fourth installments of the franchise. He mentioned on TODAY, “I’ve already shot a little bit of the third, and I hope to perhaps shoot them back-to-back next spring.”
Kelly Reilly
Kelly Reilly is set to lead Sky’s upcoming crime series, Under Salt Marsh. In this role, she plays Jackie Ellis, a former detective turned teacher investigating the tragic death of a student and the unresolved disappearance of her niece, Nessa. Set in the fictional Welsh town of Morfa Halen, the show is slated to begin filming later this year, though additional cast details are still under wraps.
Cole Hauser
Cole Hauser has been keeping busy with several ventures. After launching his own coffee brand, Free Rein, in 2023, he’s seen impressive sales of his Lazy K Bar Bourbon Whiskey. While saying goodbye to Yellowstone will be bittersweet, Cole is well occupied with his growing business ventures.
Luke Grimes
Luke Grimes will star in another Western film, Eddington, directed by Ari Aster. Although it’s yet to receive a release date, the film, shot in the spring, is expected to premiere after Yellowstone’s final season. It features an impressive cast, including Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, Austin Butler, Deirdre O’Connell, Michael Ward, and Clifton Collins Jr.
On a personal note, Luke is also preparing for a new chapter in his life. He and his wife, Bianca Rodrigues Grimes, are expecting their first child together. Bianca shared the exciting news with a photo of her growing bump, captioned, “Can’t wait to meet you, little one,” in August.
