Just when we thought we had the drama surrounding Yellowstone figured out, Paramount Network has thrown fans for a loop.
Here’s the latest update: The series is set to return for the final episodes of Season 5 on November 10. Although Paramount Network initially announced this would mark the end of the series, there are now rumors that it might continue into a sixth season with fan favorites Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly. Adding to the confusion, a new teaser has recently surfaced.
The brief but intense clip features the familiar elements of Yellowstone—family conflict, horseback riding, and breathtaking Montana landscapes. It begins with a dramatic statement from Kevin Costner, who plays John Dutton on the show: “Legacy—you build something worth having, someone is going to try to take it.” This would seem fitting for the series, except for the fact that Kevin Costner himself has previously stated he will not appear in the remaining episodes. In June, while promoting his film Horizon, Costner announced, “I just wanted to let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and reflecting on Yellowstone, I’ve realized that I won’t be able to continue with Season 5 or beyond.”
Fans are now voicing their confusion online. Comments include: “Why is Kevin being shown here? Is he in the last series or not?” “No Kevin so why advertise with him???” and “I came here to say this!!!!
