“‘Yellowstone’ Cast Promises ‘Profound’ Series Finale Following Kevin Costner’s Departure: ‘It’s the Perfect Conclusion’”

Fans of “Yellowstone” can expect an exciting series finale, even without Kevin Costner, according to the show’s cast.

Created by Taylor Sheridan, the acclaimed TV Western will return for the second half of its fifth and final season on November 10 on the Paramount Network, wrapping up the dramatic saga of the Dutton family. This Montana ranching dynasty has captivated viewers since 2018 as they fought for their legacy and land.

Costner, who has portrayed family patriarch John Dutton from the beginning, will not be participating in the final six episodes due to scheduling conflicts with his “Horizon: An American Saga” films. Despite his absence, the cast and producers assure fans that the finale will still shine brightly.

“I read the last episode just before we started filming,” said Luke Grimes, who plays Costner’s son Kayce Dutton, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “I couldn’t be happier. It’s a perfect ending for the show and every character. Taylor is such a talented writer, and the conclusion is both profound and beautiful. I can’t wait to watch it one day.”

Kelly Reilly, known for her role as the fierce Beth Dutton, echoed these sentiments, revealing that Taylor had envisioned the show’s ending since Season 1. “He told me how it would end while we were filming the first season,” she shared. “It was always intended to be five seasons, but due to the show’s immense success, everyone wanted more.”

Production on the final season faced delays due to the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strikes. The last episode of the first part of Season 5 aired on January 1, 2023, leaving fans eagerly waiting for over a year and a half. Production resumed in May and wrapped up in August.

In addition to the main series, a spinoff featuring Michelle Pfeiffer and potentially Kurt Russell is already in the works, and rumors suggest that a surprise Season 6 of “Yellowstone” with Reilly might be on the horizon.
