“Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 First Look: Dutton Family Faces New Challenges Following Kevin Costner’s Departure”

Paramount Network has unveiled the first five photos from the second half of Yellowstone Season 5, set to premiere on Sunday, November 10. This new batch of episodes will mark the end of this chapter in Taylor Sheridan’s epic Western saga.

Originally intended to be the final season following Kevin Costner’s departure as lead character John Dutton, Paramount has surprised fans by announcing a sixth season of Yellowstone. The upcoming season will shift its focus to Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler and Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton, John’s daughter.

In one of the newly released images, Rip and Beth are seen gazing into the horizon on John’s iconic Yellowstone ranch in Montana. Another photo captures Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), now the Montana attorney general, standing at a podium with the Montana state seal, flanked by former governor Lynelle Perry (Wendy Moniz).

John Dutton was sworn in as governor at the beginning of Season 5, which premiered in 2022. It remains unclear how his character will be written off the show—whether he will be killed off or removed in another way. The image of Jamie could potentially hint at him addressing the public about his father’s death, though this has not been confirmed.

Other images include Rip watching over his adopted son Carter (Finn Little) as he sleeps, and Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) with his wife Monica (Kelsey Asbille) and their son Tate (Brecken Merrill), appearing to recover from their recent car accident. The final photo features Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) and his aide Mo Brings Plenty examining plans.

The announcement of a sixth season focusing on Beth and Rip has surprised some viewers. There were earlier reports that Reilly and Hauser might join the Yellowstone spinoff The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer.

In April, Reilly expressed her commitment to finishing Yellowstone with dedication and passion, stating to RadioTimes, “I just care about finishing [Yellowstone] with as much care and as much passion and as much love as I can muster to put into it… I’m sort of prepping for that now, [and] that’s my tunnel-vision thing that I care about most.”

She added, “And what goes on beyond that? There are discussions, you know. Don’t believe everything you read. It’s just nonsense.”
