“Yellowstone to Yosemite: Kevin Costner’s Adventure”
Hollywood icon Kevin Costner is teaming up with Fox Nation once again for a compelling new limited series, “Yellowstone to Yosemite,” a follow-up to his acclaimed project, Yellowstone: One-Fifty.
“Kevin Costner has a rare talent for capturing the essence of the American experience and engaging audiences through powerful storytelling,” said Fox Nation President Lauren Petterson during the announcement. The Dances with Wolves and Field of Dreams star will both host and produce this three-part series, which retraces the historic 1903 Yosemite expedition led by 26th President Teddy Roosevelt and famed environmentalist John Muir.
Throughout the journey, Costner brings to life the rich tapestry of America’s indigenous heritage, the pioneers who shaped the land, and how Muir emerged as a passionate advocate for the country’s wild spaces. These stories are crucial to understanding the creation of America’s National Park System — now encompassing 150 National Forests, five National Parks, and the preservation of over 230 million acres of protected land.
“Every once in a while, you encounter a story that’s almost too incredible to believe — a story that’s stranger than fiction, yet it genuinely changed the world for the better,” Costner said, reflecting on the project’s significance.
“The tale of Teddy Roosevelt and John Muir’s legendary camping trip through Yosemite is one of those rare stories, and I’m thrilled to explore this next chapter in preserving the American frontier.”
“Following the success of our initial collaboration, no filmmaker better represents the spirit of America 250 than Kevin Costner,” added Petterson.
